2010 QJRU State Champs

More than 1200 junior footballers including 17 teams from Brisbane and 24 teams from regional Queensland will travel to the state’s premier junior rugby championships on the Sunshine Coast for the State Junior Rugby Union competition for U13 to U17 players held from 20 September to 22 September.

The championships will be a highlight for the players from Brisbane and country areas like Cairns, Mackay, Townsville, Rockhampton, Bundaberg, Hervey Bay, Darling Downs, Mt Isa, Sunshine Coast and Gold Coast as well Northern Territory, PNG and Victoria

The state championships are an important talent identification opportunity for future selection of players in Queensland representative teams and squads including the Country/City and State U15 and U17 teams.

Now in the 30th year the event has seen several Wallabies and Reds come through the state championship pathway, including Peter Hynes, Ben Lucas, Will Genia and Quade Cooper.
