Overview
Queensland Rugby Union (QRU) is committed to educating coaches and referees within the community. QRU conducts professional coaching and referee courses throughout the state. All courses are professionally staffed and all instructors receive specialist training in ARU course delivery. Courses are specifically designed for the age of the players and the experience of the coach or referee.
Coaching Courses
Smart Rugby (Safety course mandatory for all coaches and referees)
Junior Player Pathway (Seminar for coaches involved in Walla rugby 6 - 8, Mini 9 -10, Midi 11 - 12. SmartRugby is included in this course)
Foundation Course (Entry level course for coaches and referees involved in U13 - Seniors. The course focuses on laws, technical skills/drills and effective coaching and refereeing practice. SmartRugby is included in this course)
Education Seminars (Presentations on the current coaching trends of the game)
Level 2 Coaching Course (Intermediate level course focusing on developing a coach's tactical knowledge of the game)
Advanced Coaching Seminars (Presentations by professional coaches on the current practices involved in the game)
Level 3 Coaching Program (ARU coaching program designed for coaches involved at the premier level/representative level)
Referee Courses
